Abstract

Philosophy is curiosity or science that studies the nature of existence, knowledge, truth and life. Philosophy can be interpreted as a critical view of something, or an individual's life stance. A philosopher is someone who does a lot of reflection and observation, by utilizing every experience in seeking an understanding. It also requires honesty, critical thinking skills, rationality, and responsibility and has the courage to do this. Philosophers also do not only give opinions and speak without meaning and purpose. But on the contrary they are able to develop weighty arguments, based on a proposition that can and will be challenged by other philosophers.Humans as true thinkers, want to prove that humans with their minds, are not only able to know the secrets of nature, but are able to master and manage them. Humans with their minds as cultural forces are able to build with various systems of thinking, knowledge systems, and scientific systems that are able to place them as actors of the times. Christian philosophy is a way of understanding human concepts and learning how to think critically according to the Christian faith. The Word of God is very helpful for Christians who must often philosophize, both in the context of defense (apologetics), outreach (pre-evangelism) and teaching (catechism). A contemporary philosopher is basically an academic, and must have a very high degree. In order to succeed in a career in philosophy, try to get a very high degree, students must get a doctorate or at least a bachelor's degree.
