PENGARUH BIMBINGAN KATEKISASI DAN KONSELING PRANIKAH TERHADAP KEBAHAGIAAN KELUARGA

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of catechization guidance and premarital counseling on family happiness. Motivated by the concern of researchers about the failure of Christian communities in building households, which adversely affects children. Many couples do not receive catechization guidance and premarital counseling before marriage in church, resulting in marriage shocks, disappointment, and unsustainable homes. Family happiness is something that every individual or family wants, because this happiness is important to be achieved and sought so that the family can function well without obstacles. Catechization guidance is part of church ministry that aims to teach the Bible to church members, convey the truth, and convert them to believe in Jesus, experience faith growth, and mature in the Christian faith. Premarital counseling is a form of preparation made by God's servants to prepare couples who will enter married life more prepared. How much influence do catechization guidance and premarital counseling together have on family happiness? To answer this research question, the research method used was quantitative, with a sample of congregational research in Gereja Beth-El Tabernakel jemaat Getsemani Pematang Siantar who were married and were permanent church members, with a total of 16 couples or 32 people. The results showed that catechization guidance and premarital counseling together had an effect of 73.2% on family happiness (sufficient).
