Implikasi Teologis-Praktis Kutukan Elisa kepada Anak-anak yang Mencemoohnya: Eksegesis 2 Raja-raja 2:23-25

Abstract

This research is an attempt to find out the practical theological implications of Elisha's curse on youths who jeered him, based on the exegesis study of 2 Kings 2:23-25. The writer's interest in the multiple interpretations that appear on this text is the reason for doing exegetical research. The research method used is descriptive analysis, clearly describing the background and context of the text discussed as the object of research. The author investigates the background of the book which is the object of research, pays attention to the context of the verse, interprets verse by verse, to find a clear understanding of the text, then draws its practical theological implications in the present context. Based on the research on the text, the theological implications are drawn as follows: First, God sent prophets as spokesmen. Second, parents are role models for youths. Third, the curse applies to those who reject God. Forms of practical implications in today's life are: First, people maintain a respectful attitude towards God's servants. Second, parents need to educate their children according to God's word. Third, the eternal punishment of humans who reject God needs to be preached.

Penelitian ini adalah sebuah usaha untuk mengetahui implikasi teologis praktis kutukan Elisa kepada anak-anak yang mencemoohnya, berdasarkan studi eksegesa 2 Raja-raja 2:23-25. Ketertarikan penulis terhadap multitafsir yang muncul atas teks ini menjadi alasan mengerjakan penelitian eksegesis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif analisis, menggambarkan secara jelas latar belakang dan konteks teks yang dibahas sebagai objek penelitian. Penulis menyelidiki latar belakang kitab yang menjadi objek penelitian, memperhatikan konteks ayat, menafsirkan ayat demi ayat, untuk menemukan pengertian yang jelas dari teks, lalu menarik implikasi teologis praktisnya pada konteks masa kini. Berdasarkan penelitian atas teks, ditarik implikasi teologis sebagai berikut: Pertama, Allah mengutus para nabi sebagai juru bicara. Kedua, orangtua menjadi teladan bagi anak-anak. Ketiga, kutuk berlaku atas mereka yang menolak Allah. Bentuk implikasi praktis pada kehidupan masa kini adalah: Pertama, umat menjaga sikap hormat terhadap hamba Tuhan. Kedua, orangtua perlu mendidik anak-anaknya sesuai firman Tuhan. Ketiga, hukuman kekal kepada manusia yang menolak Allah perlu diberitakan.
